I decided a month or two ago that I was going to "go" to take a trip. "Where?" my friends would ask. The response was generally "I don't know"... so I spent a little over a month doing things to get my truck prepared to "Tent Camp". I have two modes of sleeping facilities available: I can sleep in the back seat of the truck which now has a bed berth and is quite comfy if I need air conditioning. I can also set up a tent in the back of my truck, or on the ground, and sleep there as well. I have all the normal things one uses when camping... and I am packed in tube compression sacks for multiple seasons. I have hiking gear, and I have my bike with me. So I am set. The only stipulation is each workday I have to have cell service or internet service available so I can work.
I left Sunday morning and took off for my first stop in Tulsa OK to see friends of mine and just hang out for a couple of days. I have decided that my first major stop of interest is going to the "Dignity" statue in Chamberlain, South Dakota. I think she is beautiful and I look forward to getting to know more about her and look forward to seeing her in the different lights of sunrise, and sunset.
I am going to have to plan carefully to be there on a weekend as I think this looks to be a bit remote and I may or may not have cell service or internet so I can work. She is 11 hours from my current location so I will make my way there over the next three days.
