Photography Section Update on Day 25: 17th Day of Dallas County Shelter in Place

Taking a break from my normal General Musings, I wanted to start doing some updates to the photography section.  As many of you know, I like to snap pictures.  Whether it is people, or nature, or places, or animals.  Sometimes, I get a surprise.

I was doing some work in Florida in the Jacksonville area when I snapped this picture with my cell.  I love sunrise, especially when I am on the East Coast of Florida.  I was walking the beach one morning at dawn when I saw this guy playing with his dogs.  Well I thought they were playing.  As it turns out, he has dogs he trains for Beach Rescue.  David Hall was up that morning training his two dogs Peaches and Goose.  He takes a picture everyday of the gorgeous sunrises.  You can enjoy them by following the facebook page Sunrise on North Florida Beach.  I sent him this picture after I had gotten home and he memorialized it on his site:  Working Hard - David, Goose, and Peaches  It remains one of my favorite sunrise pictures I have ever taken.  I will find the original which is a bit better resolution to add to this post.

My second pick for this post is a picture I took of my mom and dad when we went on our infamous 60th Wedding Anniversary Cruise.  Used my 35 MM.  We were at a stop in Bar Harbor Maine. This photo was used as the cover for the memory book "Celebrating 60 Years"  I liked it because the ship and city and etc. do not even look real.  It looks like they are sitting in front of a backdrop.  We had rented a car for the day and were driving to the top of the mountain and then were off to catch lunch at a Lobster place we had gone to on Teresa McClure's 50th Birthday outing in the same part of the country.

This picture was from my cell phone on a trip I took with Stacy, Teresa and Christy.  We did some hiking in Yosemite and the surrounding parks.  NOW would be a great time to finish that picture book.  But this was from a hike out to see the famous Boole Tree.  By volume, the largest tree in any of the National Parks (click on the link to learn more about it if you like.  It survived a forest fire (or two).  Having Teresa and Stacy on it provides some perspective.  But it was huge!  It is one of the 60 survivors in the Basin after a lot of logging was done.

Have a great Thursday everyone!
